It All Began In a Dusty Garage.
In 2014, I started this business from my dusty, hot, suburban garage. Uneven wood pallets and miles of ribbon found a home among my car, brooms, and Christmas decorations. I had been painting and lettering as a side gig- just a hobby that made me a few extra dollars for that extra glass of wine when my teenagers' attitudes made me want to pull my hair out. Nearly a year later in 2015, my little side hustle exploded into a full-grown business. Then, I did the craziest thing I had only ever dreamed of doing. I quit my job of 18 years and well, you know the rest.
At the age of 37, I spent $100 on a jig saw and a sander. I remember standing in the isle of the store, thinking "what am I doing? I don't need to be spending money on this. I don't even know how to use these." I put the tools in my cart anyway. Sometimes in life, you just have to take a chance and believe in yourself. Do something for yourself and don't worry about the "what-if's." As it turns out, that $100 was the best money I ever spent. Now 6 years later, I get to help other women discover their creative side and gain the confidence they were missing, while teaching them all the things it took me years to learn. It's pretty amazing!
My superpower is helping women confidently create something they love.... one paintbrush at a time.
By doing paint parties for the last 6 years and hand lettering classes for the last 2 years, I have learned so much. I have connected with so many amazing women and I have built so many wonderful relationships. I have seen first hand what their struggles are, what's holding them back, and how to help them overcome obstacles in their way. I have also had the opportunity to mentor several women and have taken them from the beginning stages of painting and lettering to making, creating, and selling their own signs. This has allowed me to carefully create systems that are easy to learn and implement. Watching their transformation from "I'm not really very crafty" to "wow, look what I made!" is so rewarding. I am not just some business, offering a service just to say "see ya never!" I am real person, who values relationships and is here to help you every step along the way. I want to help you create something that you are proud of and can call your own.
You watch their faces light up as they see their completed art work. They not only have a final product, they have all the amazing memories to go with it. When they see their product, the product you helped them make, they remember taking a leap of faith and doing something good for themselves. That brings such joy to my life.
